Illinois Legislature Illinois' Best Path Forward:  Put the Brakes on Medicaid This Tuesday, the Illinois Senate's Public Health Committee will consider S.B. 26, which would expand Medicaid in Illinois to include an additional 500,000 individuals.  Currently, more than 35% of Illinois doctors do not accept new Medicaid patients, and it's no wonder why; Illinois already has one of the lowest reimbursement rates in the country and a backlog of billions of dollars of unpaid bills piled up.
