Independence Day is a day set aside to reflect and celebrate how fortunate we are to live in this great nation! Whether we were born here or sacrificed to come to this land, we are able to live free from oppression. We have the opportunity to become who and what we want and all that is required is the drive and ambition to get there!
However, that liberty comes with a price--many have paid the ultimate price of their very lives to secure that freedom for the rest of us. From soldiers in the revolutionary war to those who are serving today, many sacrifices have been made so that we can be free. We owe them an unpayable debt of gratitude!
Unfortunately, those liberties that we are so blessed to possess are under constant assault. We must commit ourselves to doing our part to guarantee them for our children and grandchildren. We have taken them for granted and have often not paid the proper diligence to our reponsibilities as the beneficiaries of such blessings. Now it is our turn...we can each make a difference by simply paying attention and getting involved.
Enjoy your time with family and friends today, but don't forget to reflect on what it means to be an American!
God Bless the USA!
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear
from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
