The Manure (misinformation) is Being Flung Already!

Please pass this on to everyone you know in the new 17th District.  Bobby has an uphill climb to November!  Cheri Bustos is the God-daughter of the illustrious Dick Durbin and has the full-backing (and bottomless pockets) of the Democrat Chicago machine!  We must make sure that we don't let her misinformation be the only messages spread in this race.  Bobby can't possibly outspend her, so it is up to EVERY one of us to keep spreading the truth.

Friend-

Far left special interests will stop at nothing to lie about my record.

Today we're hearing word that these groups are attacking me for supporting Rep. Paul Ryan's bipartisan Path to Prosperity budget last week.

The Ryan Budget is a critical first step toward balancing our budget and getting our nation's fiscal house in order. This great nation needs a bold, long term vision to start paying off our $15.5 trillion debt. While the U.S. Senate still hasn't passed a budget in nearly 1,100 days, we continue to work everyday in the House to seek common sense solutions that work for all Americans.

Here are a few "fact checks" on some of the myths of the Ryan Budget proposal.

Myth: Bobby Schilling voted to give tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires.
Fact: Bobby Schilling voted to lower taxes for all Americans by creating just two low tax brackets of 10 percent and 25 percent.
Fact: The House budget would end the Alternative Minimum Tax, which affects more than 30 million Americans.

Myth: Bobby Schilling voted to give tax breaks to oil companies.
Fact: Bobby Schilling voted to lower tax rates for all American industries to spur job growth and make them more competitive in the global economy.
Fact: The House budget eliminated corporate loopholes that were allowing some corporations to avoid paying taxes.
Myth: Bobby Schilling voted to end Medicare.Fact: Politifact, a non-partisan fact-checking organization, called this false claim the "Lie of the Year" in 2011.Fact: Bobby Schilling voted to save Medicare from going bankrupt.Fact: Unless action is taken, Medicare is set to run out of money by 2024.Remember, the truth will always prevail. Can you pass this on to ten of your friends?

In liberty,

Bobby Schilling
