Internet Sales Tax Bill Sometime this Week...

Please watch the video on the 'Marketplace Fairness Act' below and then sign the petition and contact your Senators and Representatives

This bill is being touted as an effort to level the playing field between brick-and-mortar retailers and on-line retailers.  The truth is, this bill will make it so burdensome to do business on-line, that it will drive many small internet sellers out of business--which is why the large on-line retailers support it!

The pending legislation would require sales tax to be collected by on-line retailers and submitted to over 9,000 taxing bodies nation-wide!  Small retailers don't have the infrastructure and employee base to comply with such regulation and would have to close their doors.  This means more workers unemployed and clears out the competition which is helping to keep the prices of the big retailers low, leading to higher prices paid by consumers!

This Family Needs our Help!
The Romeike family is a Christian family from Germany who choose to home school their children.  Under threat of losing their children, they sought, and were granted, asylum in the U.S. in 2010.  The DOJ has appealed the asylum ruling and is seeking to deport this family back to Germany!  They claim that home schooling is not a fundamental human right and that they family does not deserve asylum for home schooling because it is illegal for everyone in Germany, so they are not being persecuted!

Please SIGN THE ONLINE PETITION at Whitehouse.gov requesting that this family be granted permanent legal status.  It is already over the 100,000 signature threshhold, but it needs to be high enough that it puts pressure on the Whitehouse to stop the assault by the DOJ!
Also, call and write your
Senators and Representative

Please help this family!  If they lose, we all lose.  If they are sent back to Germany, it is a strike against the parental rights of every one of us!  Deciding our children's education is a fundamental right as a parent!
