October SVTP Meeting...
Get-out-the Vote Organizational meeting! I have been working (right up to the last possible minute) to get someone to speak to us about the ballot initiative to amend the IL Constitution. That did not pan out. So, instead, we are going to spend a little time getting organized and planning our efforts for the next two weeks. We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines! For the next two weeks, we must get engaged in this battle! There is too much at stake! I ask you to consider this quote by Ronald Reagan..."If not us, then who? If not now, then when?" Please write a letter to the editor in support of a candidate! It is SO important to speak up in support of those who will try to turn this nation back in the right direction!!! (most publications limit election-related letters to 200-250 words) We need YOU on Sunday, November 4th! (and/or Monday, November 5th) No one has volunteered to go door-to-door yet...PLEASE commit to just an hour or two to help with this effort! This election will determine the course of our country for the forseeable future! We MUST change course, but it will take ALL OF US to make that happen! Now is the time!
The Schilling/Albracht/Morthland campaigns have a get out the vote doorhanger that needs to go out in the Sterling/Rock Falls area on Sunday and Monday, November 5th & 6th. ATTENTION CONCEALED CARRY SUPPORTERS IN WHITESIDE COUNTY...
Concealed Carry petitions were presented to the Whiteside County Board at last Tuesday's board meeting. The issue has been referred to the executive committee. They will discuss the 500+ petitions and the petition demands on November 9 at 3:30pm, room 117, Whiteside County Courthouse. We need to make sure that we have a strong showing of support at that meeting! The executive committee will determine whether or not the issue moves to the full board for a vote. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend and speak in support of the petition demands! Need a Ride?
If you or someone you know in the Dixon area needs a ride to the polls to vote on election day, please contact us...we have a Dixon resident who has generously volunteered to transport folks who can't get there on their own! SaukValleyTeaParty@live.com or 815-499-0237. Encourage YOUR Pastor or Priest to Speak Up Before the Election There is a group of Pastors across the country who are taking a stand from the pulpit. They know that we are in a fight for the soul of this nation and it is their responsibility to speak up! They don't need to endorse any particular candidate, they just need to remind their congregations that it is their responsibility to vote for the candidates who represent the tenets of their faith...to do any different is simply wrong. The IRS has been used to scare Pastors into silence, but there is nothing in the law that prevents Pastors from encouraging Faith-based voting! At the Pulpit Initiative, there are attorneys willing to defend any Pastor (free of charge) who comes under threat or attack from the IRS. 4. How far would you be willing to travel It is also important for you to take the election worker training in the next couple of weeks. There will be a group training opportunity on October 18, 2012 at Carriage Greens in Darrien at 7:00pm. If you are interested in attending please let me know.
