More information Available HERE Candidates Need YOUR Help in the final weeks leading up to the election! What is the easiest way that YOU can affect how people feel about local candidates? Write a letter, of course! Letters to the editor are an easy way to make sure that a wide audience hears your opinion. Pick a candidate who you feel is worthy of your vote, then (in 250 words or less) tell readers WHY you feel that way! There are a lot of good candidates running who really need your help! If you don't feel that you know enough about a particular candidate, do a little homework. Start at SaukValleyVoter.com and visit the candidates' own websites. (I have had personal interaction with many local candidates and would be happy to share my opinion on the ones I am familiar with--feel free to email questions to SaukValleyTeaParty@live.com and I will do my best to come up with the answer or put you in touch with someone who can answer it better.) It is VERY easy to submit your letter. Most newspapers have a submission form right on their website, or you can mail them directly to the paper. Here are some local candidates who would appreciate your support: Bobby Schilling (17th Congressional District), Adam Kinzinger (16th Congressional District), Bill Albracht (IL Senate, 36th District), Richard Morthland (IL House, 71st District), Tom Demmer (IL House 90th District), Anna Sacco Miller (Lee County State's Attorney), Trish Joyce (Whiteside County State's Attorney), Dawn Young (Whiteside County Recorder), Kurt Glazier (Whiteside County Board, District 1), Shane Celestino (Whiteside County Board, District 1), Sue Britt (Whiteside County Board, District 3). SaukValleyVoter.com Encourage YOUR Pastor or Priest to Speak Up Before the Election There is a group of Pastors across the country who are taking a stand from the pulpit. They know that we are in a fight for the soul of this nation and it is their responsibility to speak up! They don't need to endorse any particular candidate, they just need to remind their congregations that it is their responsibility to vote for the candidates who represent the tenets of their faith...to do any different is simply wrong. The IRS has been used to scare Pastors into silence, but there is nothing in the law that prevents Pastors from encouraging Faith-based voting! At the Pulpit Initiative, there are attorneys willing to defend any Pastor (free of charge) who comes under threat or attack from the IRS.
