Join us on the Dixon Riverfront for a Constitution Day Rally Sunday, September 16th from 3-5pm What does the Constitution mean to you? We will hear the answer to that question and more as we gather to celebrate the documents that have secured freedom and liberty for this great nation! Please help us spread the word by posting flyers wherever you go throughout the week: at work, the grocery store, the gym, your bank, etc. Black and White Constitution Day Flyer Color Constitution Day Flyer We hope you will join us--bring your friends and family! Thanks for your help...we look forward to an inspirational day! Use your vote in November to tell them You Demand Better!!! Six members voted against the permits because the matter was not handled properly. The only responsible members of the Whiteside County Board are: Jim Duffy, Kurt Glazier, Sue Britt, Paul Cunnif, Gene Jacoby and Doug Wetzell (please tell them thank you for trying to protect you). Please call every member of the board in your district and voice your discontent with the irresponsible way they are conducting county business! Please support the members who wanted more time to make sure taxpayers were protected when you vote in November and Don't vote for those who rushed to approve the special use permits for the Green River Wind Farm without proper discussion or protections! The members who tried to protect Whiteside County Residents and Taxpayers: Sue Britt, Kurt Glazier, Jim Duffy, Gene Jacoby, Doug Wetzell, Paul Cunniff Members who only care about anticipated revenues from the wind farm and failed to make any effort to protect residents and taxpayers: Dick Cox, Jim Ardiuini, Bill McGinn, Sarah McNeill, Tom Ausman, Ruth Stanley*, Bob VanDeVelde, Tony Arduini, Bill Milby**, John Espinoza, Karen Nelson, Bob McKanna, Glen Truesdell, Bill Abbott, Mark Hamilton, Glenn Frank, Steve Wilkins, Ken Roeder, Bud Thompson, Roger Schipper***, Dennis Cook*** * Ruth Stanley proposed an amendment that would require Mainstream to pay for an inspector to make sure they aren't cutting corners. Good idea, but NOT enough protection to justify her vote without discussion on other aspects of the development! ** Bill Milby made a motion to table the issue for one month to allow members to look deeper into the suggestion made by Ruth Stanley. He also expressed concerns with wording in the permit as to what degree 911 communications would be required to be restored if turbine operation caused interference. That issue was not sufficiently addressed before the vote. Bill gets credit for attempting to start a conversation and buy some time, but still voted for this mess without proper protections! *** Roger Schipper and Dennis Cook were ABSENT for this important vote!!! PLEASE Take a Moment to Help us Update Our Records We are embarking on an exciting new chapter of our journey. We are working to engage our members on a more personal level. Please take a quick moment to "Our Portion of History is being written today. What will be remembered about YOUR contribution?" --Andy Andrews | | |
