September SVTP Meeting The Sauk Valley Chamber of Commerce has planned a candidate forum for the same night and time that we were planning to hold ours! So, we have switched gears...we will be holding our September 25th meeting in Dixon at the Loveland Building with special guest speakers C. Steven Tucker -- Insurance Broker, Healthcare Policy/Obamacare Expert Ulysses Arn--Author of the e-book, "We Can Do Better" Steven Tucker has made the major news media circuit as an expert on the effects of Obamacare. I have been hoping to get to hear him speak for quite some time, so I am really looking forward to our September meeting!!! I hope you will join us--bring your friends and family who don't understand why we are all so concerned about Obamacare! Whiteside County Voters: The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Candidate Forum on Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the Centennial Auditorium - Sterling High School, 1608 4th Avenue in Sterling. All candidates running for elected office in the November 2012 election can participate in the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce Candidate Forum scheduled for September 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Centennial Auditorium, Sterling High School, 1608 Fourth Avenue, Sterling. The Chamber’s candidate forum provides an outlet for candidates to state their individual positions on numerous issues as well as providing an opportunity for members of the public to ask candidates questions. This event is free and open to the public. All candidates are asked to RSVP in advance by calling the Chamber at 815-625-2400 or by sending an email to chamber@essex1.com. Representatives of candidates may attend, but only candidates will be given time to speak during the event. Members of the public are encouraged to attend. If you cannot attend and would like a question asked on your behalf please submit your questions in writing by dropping them off at the Chamber Office at 211 Locust Street in Sterling or sending them via email to chamber@essex1.com. American Action Network is a non-partisan, conservative think tank and grassroots action network. They are committed to getting out the vote and mobilizing local voters. They will be setting up a phone bank at the Sterling Library tomorrow from 2-5pm. If you have a few hours to spare and would like to help out, it would be much appreciated! We need to make sure that we get conservative voters to the polls in November!
