As I am sure you have heard by now, the Supreme Court upheld Obamacare. They even ruled that the individual mandate is constitutional because the federal govern-
ment has the authority to levy taxes. Apparently they missed the part where all the Democrats in Congress and Obama himself were decrying the fact that the funding mechanism for the healthcare bill is not a tax???
Obama campaigned on the promise that, "If you are happy with your health insurance plan, you can keep your plan". But that's a promise he knew he couldn't keep. The Affordable Care Act makes healthcare insurance too expensive for most employers to continue to offer their current plans. So, many will pay the penalty and shift their employees into the government plan. This poses even more problems for taxpayers because the penalty per employee doesn't come anywhere close to covering the cost of government coverage for each employee. Who gets to make up the difference? You guessed it, you and me!
For those who make just above the arbitrary income guidelines, but are still struggling to get by, things are about to get even tougher! They will now be FORCED by the government to purchase one of these new, "affordable" health insurance plans. If they can't afford it or choose not to comply, the enforcement arm of this extortion racket (the IRS) will make you pay a new "tax" to cover your insurance one way or another! Let's face it, the Affordable Care Act had nothing to do with making healthcare more accessible or affordable...it was all about power and control...control of 1/3 of our nation's economy and control over every aspect of our lives. The good news is that you and I can make sure Obamacare is never implemented!
By issuing this ruling, the Supreme Court has put this issue back into the political arena. They have removed Obama's main campaign issue in November. Because this legislation is so unpopular with Americans, Obama is going to enter into this election cycle on the defensive.
What must he defend, you ask? Every campaign promise he made in 2008!
* Obama promised to make healthcare MORE AFFORDABLE...Obamacare is
resulting in HIGHER insurance premiums.
* Obama promised not to raise taxes...Obamacare is the largest tax increase in
the history of our nation.
* Obama promised you could keep your current plan if you are happy with it...
Obamacare makes it too expensive for most employers to continue their
current plans.
* Obama promised to create jobs, but spent his first year in office cramming an
unpopular healthcare takeover down our throats
* Obama promised to have the most transparent government ever...yet, "we
must pass the bill to see what's in the bill"...clear as mud!
NOW is the time that we must ALL step up! The ONLY way to save our quality healthcare is to get involved and make sure that Republicans retain the House, gain seats in the Senate and help boot Obama out of office! The Republicans do not have all the answers and often can't be trusted any more than the Democrats, but we must stand behind anyone who pledges to repeal and replace this disastrous legislation! If you sit on the sidelines again this election cycle, you are helping Obamacare crush our healthcare system, quality of care, and our personal liberties!!!!
Get involved, volunteer for a candidate who will work to repeal and replace Obamacare!
Bill Albracht and Bobby Schilling will have a table at the Amazing Grace Church's 4th of July family event from 12-5pm. I will be staffing that table for awhile as both Bobby and Bill will be in parades in other towns. Bill Albracht will be at the event later in the afternoon.
