A Day to Remember

Today, we take time to remember the sacrifices made by so many which have secured the freedoms we enjoy today--Freedoms which seem to be constantly under attack.  We must not forget that freedom is not free...it has been purchased by the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice by putting their lives on the line so that we don't have to. 

Do not let their sacrifice be in vain.  We must be vigilant and active so that what they fought so bravely to attain and protect does not disappear due to our indifference and apathy.  I ask you today to commit to sacrificing just a little bit of your time to help protect our way of life.  Get involved, step out of your comfort zone, pay attention to the issues and hold your legislators accountable for their votes.  Find a candidate you believe in and commit to work for their campaign.  We must each do our part to make sure that our children and grandchildren don't look back some day and say, "they didn't care enough to do such simple things".


Today and everyday, we thank ALL veterans and current service men and women for their commitment and sacrifice.  We know that your service takes you away from your families and loved ones and we will forever be greatful for your sacrifices!

We had a great time getting to know a little bit about Christie Schilling.  She is a remarkable woman of strength, passion and faith.  Listening to her was very inspirational!

DISGUSTING!
Last Thursday, the Illinois Senate passed HB 5007, which will implement key portions of ObamaCare nearly two years early in Cook County.  On Friday,  Tom Cross and 15 other IL Republicans went along with this crooked scheme--now it has been sent on to Quinn who has promised to sign it into law!!!   We cannot afford our current, bloated Medicaid system and now, through the guise of health care exchanges, we are going to add hundreds of thousands more people to the Medicaid rolls! Unbelievable

We MUST be more vocal on these issues!  We must get involved in the campaign process and help elect folks who will not make these back-room deals and sell out to the Chicago machine!  I urge you to learn more about Bill Albracht and Richard Morthland...we need to do everything we can to send Albracht to replace Mike Jacobs in the IL Senate and to return Morthland to the IL House!  The future of our state is at stake!!!

Whiteside County Planning and Zoning Hearing
Wednesday, May 30th is likely to be the final hearing on the special use permit applications submitted by Mainstream for the turbines proposed for Whiteside County.  The meeting will begin at 7pm at the Rock Falls Community Building (between the police station and library).  It is very important that the special use permit require Mainstream to address all possible liabilities that will be created by allowing wind energy generation in Whiteside County.

Let you Senator and Representative know that your Second Amendment Right "shall not be infringed" and it is time for Illinois to recognize that this is one of our fundamental rights.  Then find a candidate who will actually support and defend the Constitution and do whatever you can to make sure they are elected in November!!!!
