SVTP June Meeting
Our June meeting is scheduled for 6:30pm Tuesday at the Loveland Community Building in Dixon.

Our Local Sheriffs will be there to share their opinion and knowledge of 2nd Amendment Issues, Gun Violence and Concealed Carry.
Come Join the discussion and learn where our top cops stand on these issues!

Come Celebrate our Nation's Independence!
We will be participating in the Petunia Fest Parade on Sunday, July 3rd!  Dress in Red, White and Blue, bring your flags and your family and come ready to be greeted by waves and smiles all along the parade route!  Last year was a LOT of fun and this year we have tons more goodies to hand out--Lots of pocket Constitutions, flags and candy!  If you could bring along an extra bag of candy for us to handout, that would be a big hit with the kids!

If you plan to join us, please send us a quick email at saukvalleyteaparty@live.com so we can get an idea of how many people will be representing the SVTP.  If you can't walk the route, don't let that stop you!  We will have a trailer with park benches that can accommodate about 18 smiling and waving patriots!  We would love to see you there!  I will send out the line-up information as soon as it is available...the parade begins at 1:00, so plan on being ready to go by 12:30pm.  More details to follow.

Come and Watch A Reading of the
Declaration of Independence...

9am Monday, July 4th at the Franklin Grove Historic Site

One of the most significant documents associated with the formation of our free country is the Declaration of Independence. It has been recognized as the prototype for use by patriots from numerous other nations in declaring their desire for freedom.

Here in our area, we have had an opportunity to hear the Declaration read each year for the past 9 years. This tenth consecutive reading will be held in the gazebo at the Historic Site in Franklin Grove, IL on July 4, 2011 at 9 AM . For this event, husband/wife teams representing the 13 colonies will be introduced (they will be dressed in early American clothing) and then, along with the patriots in attendance, will hear Tom Wadsworth's inspiring reading of the document that led to the creation of our great nation.

Please bring a chair (and a neighbor?) and plan to attend this most patriotic event! It is scheduled to be about one hour long; this will allow people to return home for any picnics or other family gatherings that they may have planned.

An earlier Tea Party certainly was one of the contributors to our country's formation. This is an opportunity to show our support of the Founding Fathers who made the sacrifices needed to gain our freedoms.

  1. We had a great meeting! About 75 folks came to discuss concealed carry with Sheriffs Harn and Varga. We learned that the Sheriffs support concealed carry but do have some concerns about the way the current legislation would institute the permitting and training process.
