WHITESIDE COUNTY
AIRPORT BOARD
There has been a lot of controversy lately surrounding the way the Whiteside County Airport Board has been doing business...
The county board currently requires any job that exceeds $20,000 to be
bid out. The airport board is now considering a policy that would
require any job that exceeds $5,000 to be bid out. This may
actually cost county taxpayers more in advertising and attorney fees.
So, who proposed this and what is the motivation behind it? Do they
really believe that this policy change would be beneficial to
taxpayers? Or is their out-of-state attorney trying to pad his pockets
with more billable hours? Contracted jobs must still be approved by the
airport board, so what will this change?
Please attend this week's meeting of the airport board and voice your concerns!
Thursday, August 15th at the Whiteside Cty Airport, 5pm
