Americans for Prosperity will be hosting Congressman Kinzinger for a "Budget Field Hearing" at 7pm on August 14th at Rochelle City Hall (420 N. 6th St., Rochelle, IL 61068) Kinzinger's staff has reached out to local GOP organizations and asked them to attend.  The invitation says,  "This will be an excellent opportunity to gain insight on the federal budget and the challenges we face regarding the national debt, and deficit." I have heard from MANY people lately that Kinzinger's office ignores their requests for information and won't respond to  questions on issue positions. WHITESIDE COUNTY AIRPORT BOARD There has been a lot of controversy lately surrounding the way the Whiteside County Airport Board has been doing business... The county board currently requires any job that exceeds $20,000 to be bid out.  The airport board is now considering a policy that would require any job that exceeds $5,000 to be bid out.   This may actually cost county taxpayers more in advertising and attorney fees.  So, who proposed this and what is the motivation behind it?  Do they really believe that this policy change would be beneficial to taxpayers?  Or is their out-of-state attorney trying to pad his pockets with more billable hours?  Contracted jobs must still be approved by the airport board, so what will this change?
