I Have Come to a Realization that
Deeply Saddens Me...
Apathy is alive and well...even in the Sauk Valley Tea Party! I have been excited as I have watched our member list swell to well over 200. But now I am not sure why many folks are on that list. When we send out a request for action or for help, we get little to no response and only a small portion of you even OPEN the emails! The tea party has made many exciting gains in changing the political culture in Congress, but if it had been up to the Sauk Valley Tea Party, I am afraid that none of that would have happened!
We have a few members who regularly attend meetings, write and call their representatives, and do what they can to advance our conservative principles, but they are a small portion of our members. We need EVERY one of you as we head into November! We have been silent too long! It is time to take our responsibility as citizens of this great nation Seriously!
Words cannot stress strongly enough how important
THIS upcoming election is to the fate of our nation!
The choice being made in November
will determine
if we remain a
CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC
(land of opportunity and liberty)
or
if we choose to become a copy of
failed European Socialism
(land of economic oppression and government intrusion) Which do YOU CHOOSE? If you sit by and do nothing, your choice, by default is to allow the progressives to continue to dismantle the brilliant designs of our founding fathers and to support the enslavement of our children and grandchildren to the heavy chains of unrelenting debt! I am begging you to PLEASE step up and get involved! You have already taken the first step by paying attention -- NOW it is time to take what you have learned and put it into ACTION! It is not hard to get involved! We have a lot of good candidates right now who need your help! Spend a few hours in a call center making phone calls, get signed up to go door to door for a few hours a week, write letters to the editor, attend local government meetings, sign up to be election judges or poll watchers, work to clean up voter registration rolls, show up at our upcoming meetings to meet the candidates face to face...

Concealed Carry
in YOUR County! I am a firm believer that the Second Amendment is the most important fundamental right outlined in our Constitution! Without it, there is nothing to guarantee or protect the rest of them! IL is the ONLY state that does not allow some sort of open or concealed carry--it is time for that to come to an end!
Gun control advocates wasted NO time blaming the Tea Party and the NRA for last week's shootings in Aurora, Colorado. The simple point they overlook is the fact that if only ONE person in that movie theater were properly trained and had been carrying a weapon, they may have been able to take down the shooter and save lives. The perfect example of this is the Internet Cafe in Florida. Armed thugs stormed into the cafe and held folks at gunpoint. A 71 year old man came around the corner, pulled out HIS gun and shot the armed robbers. That man is a hero, but would have been of NO help to the other patrons if he had not taken his right and responsibility of personal protection seriously!
Help us reverse Illinois' policy of legislatively disarming its citizens! It's easier than you think! Rockford Tea Party is spearheading a massive effort to push concealed carry through, starting at the County level. They have collected over 5,000 signatures in Winnebago County. They have expanded their efforts to surrounding counties and have also been collecting signatures in Lee, Ogle and Whiteside. Please print a copy of your county's petition today and take it with you wherever you go. Even if you can't fill a sheet, every signature helps!

Leadership Council We are seeking folks to commit to helping plan and schedule events and meetings, brainstorm topics and invite speakers. If we get several people involved in this effort, it will minimize the workload on each person and allow us to be more effective in our efforts. I can't continue to do it all on my
own, folks! I need your help! If you are on this mailing list, you know that things are not going well in our nation. You are concerned enough to pay attention, but will you step up and actually help us preserve liberty for our children and grandchildren?
