Big Brother is watching!
Does the 4th Amendment still apply?  Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR), believe it does!  That is why they have co-sponsored the Geolocational Privacy and Surveillance Act (GPS Act).  This Act would require law enforcement officials to obtain a warrant before they can track a citizen's location by using cell phones and GPS devices.

Oops--Sorry!

I apologize for the mess that went out earlier!  I tried to update our google calendar and I forgot that it is possessed!  When I gave up and exited out, it sent an email out to everyone!  If I could find a way to delete the whole thing, I would!

 A Fond Farewell

Since getting involved in the tea party and following local politics, I have had occasion to interact with many elected representatives at the local and state level.  Some of them are there to serve their own purposes, but some are truly there for the right reason--to serve.  One man I have recently come to know and respect a great deal is Lee County Board member, Hal Maroney.   Hal has served in the military, has been very involved in the Honor Flight and has served the citizens of Lee County with honor and integrity.

The first time I spoke to Hal at length was regarding the truck stop issue.  He was still weighing the facts when we spoke and sought my opinion on the issue.  He wanted to hear from as many people as possible before he reached a decision.  When it came to a vote, he voted against my position.  He called me afterward, because he wanted to share with me his reason for supporting the project.  I believe Hal is a man who has never taken decisions that affect other people lightly.  He was elected to do what is in the best interest of Lee County residents and he took that responsibility seriously.  We had many discussions after that first one and I always looked forward to talking with him...his passion, optimism and humor were contagious and he always made me smile.

Hal's life was ended prematurely this week in a motorcycle accident between Sterling and Dixon.   My heart goes out to his family during this difficult and heartbreaking time.  Hal was a true Patriot and a wonderful person to be around.   I am sure that he will be missed by many because of all the wonderful ways he has touched people's lives.
Heritage Action Foundation
Grades Congress

How Conservative is your Representative?

For too long, politicians have used conservative rhetoric in public only to turn around and vote the wrong way when they think their constituents are not looking. This has to stop.

With each vote cast in Congress, freedom either advances or recedes. Heritage Action's scorecard is a comprehensive and revealing barometer of a lawmaker's willingness to fight for conservative policies in Congress.

The U.N. has a plan for Your 'Sustainable' Community

Should you be concerned?  The U.N. is constantly looking for ways to exert its control over all the nations of the world.  That may sound a bit paranoid, but it is, unfortunately, all too true--and many parts of our government are currently implementing portions of many different UN goals and programs.  Please read the following documents so that you are well informed on this important topic!

Dems Map vs Fair Map
The Battle Wages On
As, I am sure, most of you know, the gerrymandered mess of a map passed by the Democrat majority in Springfield and signed into law by Governor Quinn has been challenged in the courts.  This map forces many Republican Congressmen into the same districts, almost certain to assure that the Democrats regain some of the seats needed for them to retake the majority in the House of Representatives!  The map that has been proposed by Republicans and citizen's groups offers much clearer, more understandable and fairer districts.
